Royal Australian Air Force Ranks and Salaries
Rank Structure and Insignia
The rank structure of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is inherited from the Royal Air Force. The ranks are divided into three groups: officers, warrant officers, and enlisted personnel. Officers are commissioned by the Governor-General of Australia and hold the prefix "Flight Lieutenant" (FLTLT) or "Squadron Leader" (SQNLDR). Warrant officers are appointed by the Chief of Air Force and hold the prefix "Warrant Officer" (WO). Enlisted personnel are recruited and trained by the RAAF and hold the prefix "Airman" (AMN).

Salary Rates
The salary rates for RAAF personnel are determined by their rank and years of service.
